This has made it harder for people to come into the city and has been difficult for businesses.  In a Daily News article, they reported that

The Chinese American Voters Federation (CAVF)  is holding their first Educational Forum: “What are the District Leaders?”

on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at CCBA, 62 Mott Street, NY Chinatown.  (followed by a voter registration/poll workers drive from 12PM to 3PM, at CCBA.)

Many citizens and voters don’t know anything about the position or responsibilities of a District Leader. Why do we need them? Do they get paid? Where does the salary come from? This is an important topic.

LI NA VISTS CHINATOWN

Tennis champion Li Na will visit Chinatown this week!

Prior to making her run for another Grand Slam Championship title at this year’s US Open, Li Na will make an appearance at the USTA’s Mobile SmashZone, the premiere interactive fan experince at the US Open, when SmashZone stops at Sara D. Roosevelt Park in Chinatown.  She will participate in tennis activities with children from the local area to encourage health and fitness in the Asian community.  In addition, Li Na will have an autograph Session.
